Prayer Shawl Ministry
The Prayer Shawl Ministry of Phillipsburg First Christian Church was initiated by Sharon Daughtery in July 2007. After she moved to Tennessee in September of 2010, her legacy has continued. Even though the ministry is a branch of FCC the group is interdenominational and open to anyone who loves making handmade shawls and lap robes.
Prayer shawls are given to those who are ill, grieving, lonely, homebound, or to those celebrating a special occasion such as the birth of a child. Shawls are begun, worked and finished with prayer. Each finished shawl is blessed by the members with a special message of prayer and hope attached.
Everyone is invited to be part of this ministry by making shawls or by requesting a shawl for a friend or loved one who is in need. You may also contribute monetarily or join the group at their monthly meeting on the third Tuesday of each month as they pray for each recipient.
